NEWPORT, R.I. (WLNE) — The Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management on Thursday identified an East Providence man who was found dead off the coast of Newport.

Michael Healey, a spokesperson for the Department of Environmental Management, said Rui Resendes’ body and an overturned kayak were discovered Wednesday morning in the water near Price Neck.
