PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — All state-run COVID-19 testing sites will be closing on Friday.

The Rhode Island Department of Health made the announcement earlier this month, that the state is shifting to an endemic strategy.

Anyone looking to get tested will have to see their primary care physician.

The state could reopen testing sites if COVID-19 community levels become high again.

The Center for Disease Control said that all counties in the Ocean State are at a low transmission rate.
