The Rhode Island Department of Health is ordering the Rhode Island Hospital to retrain its staff in the area of infection control.

The order comes after an incident in February where a person with a potential case of measles was allowed to sit in the hospital waiting area for hours instead of being moved to a private area.

Later it was discovered that the person did not have the highly contagious disease.

Rhode Island Hospital must provide the Department of Health with a plan of correction by March 28.
