Department of Health recommends reopening 11 beaches

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — The Rhode Island Department of Health recommended 11 beaches be reopened for swimming Thursday.
The full list of beaches is:
- Lincoln Woods in Lincoln
- City Park Beach in Warwick
- Conimicut Beach in Warwick
- Oakland Beach in Warwick
- Third Beach in Middletown
- Peabody’s Beach in Middletown
- Sandy Point Beach in Portsmouth
- Warren Town Beach in Warren
- Camp Ruggles in Chepachet
- Marion Irons in Glocester
- Camp Watchaug in Charlestown
Many of these beaches were closed on Tuesday due to unsafe bacteria levels following testing.
The DOH recommended Warwick’s Goddard Memorial State Park Beach be reopened Thursday morning.
Officials said they will continue to monitor the bacteria levels and water quality through Labor Day.
