CHARLESTOWN, R.I. (WLNE) — The Rhode Island Department of Health said Wednesday they recommend reopening a beach in Charlestown and closing another in Kingstown.

Ninigret Park Beach in Charlestown was recommended to close on Friday after the department found that bacteria levels were too high. Those levels have returned back to safe levels, according to spokesman Joseph Wendelken.

The department recommends Larkin Pond Association Beach in Kingston to close for swimming because of high bacteria levels found in the water.

A list of closed beaches can be found at health.ri.gov.
