A Dighton man is accused of threatening a driver with a hatchet in a road rage incident Tuesday morning.

Police say 34-year-old Brian Art was arrested after a motorist called police claiming a man had been driving erratically behind him on Route 118 in Rehoboth.

The motorist told police that when both cars stopped at an intersection, Art got out of his vehicle, walked up to the victims vehicle and began waving a hatchet and yelling.

The victim told police he rolled up his widow and locked his doors and Art drove off.

Police arrested Art three hours later. He was charged with assault with a dangerous weapon.

He was scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday in Taunton District Court.
