Diocese of Providence holds Mass consecrating Russia and Ukraine

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — The Diocese of Providence held a Mass consecrating Russia and Ukraine on Friday.

The Mass happened at noon in the cathedral of Saints Peter and Paul.

Pope Francis invited bishops from across the world to join him in the consecration, and praying for peace for the people of Ukraine.

The pope is leading the prayer in St. Peter’s Basilica at the Vatican.

Russia’s invasion of Ukraine is moving into the second month.
