DMV Operations closed after employee tests positive for COVID-19
CRANSTON, R.I (WLNE) – The Department of Motor Vehicles is closing its operations for Thursday and Friday after an employee tested positive for COVID-19.
“We have been informed that a DMV staff member has tested positive for COVID-19,” a spokesperson said. “We understand that this is a difficult time for both customers and state employees.”
Prior to Thursday the DMV had adjusted their operations to appointment only.
The RI DMV has also offered extensions on things like licenses and registrations as the Coronavirus continues to spread in Rhode Island.
