PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) – Governor Raimondo is asking for cash donations to help Family Service of Rhode Island give “Be Safe Kits” to families in need. The kits include things like disinfecting wipes, hand sanitizer, food, and paper products. Items change each day depending on what’s available.

Family Service of Rhode Island tells us the supplies will help more members of the community fight to stop the spread of COVID-19.

Maggie Slane from Family Service of Rhode Island says, “This is not about keeping one family or two families safe. This is about keeping all of us safe. If you’ve protected your family already, and you’re saying ‘What else can I do?’ that’s what you can do.

Slane says the best way to help is by sending money so they can buy supplies in bulk.

Individuals and businesses who want to help can visit www.familyserviceri.org/besafe or text BESAFE to 44321.
