PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE)- A kitchen fire in a Providence home on Thursday afternoon caused some traffic back-ups while crews put out the flames.

The Providence fire department says crews were called to Douglas Ave., for a fire on the first floor. At this time, the cause is still under investigation.

An ABC6 reporter was on the scene at Douglas Ave., where the emergency vehicles caused part of the road to be blocked and traffic to be rerouted.

Officials say the home sustained minor damage from smoke and water. The second floor is inhabitable.

No one was injured during the fire.
