Down power lines force early dismissal at King Philips Regional HS

By News Staff

Two down power lines in Foxboro forced an early dismissal King Philip Regional High School at today.

The power lines fell shortly after 10:15 this morning on South Street in Foxboro. A National Grid spokesman says 2300 Foxboro customers were without power along with 700 Wrentham customers.

According to Superintendent Dr. Elizabeth Zielinski, King Philips HS lost some power. The loss of some power led to overheating in other areas of the school forcing students and teachers to evacuate.

Students were then released for the day shortly after 11 a.m.

Power is back up and the Superintendent says school will be open as usual tomorrow.

National Grid says they restored power a little after 12:30 p.m.
