Drive by shooter believed to be armed and dangerous

An early morning drive by shooting in Providence leaves police searching for a suspect.

The shooting happened just before 2 a.m. at the Hartford Housing Projects in Providence.

According to police two victims, 16-year-old Luisander Caraballo from East Providence and 18-year-old Pablo Segura of  Providence were both shot during the exchange.

Police confirm, Caraballo was shot in the stomach and sustained “superficial wounds” to his abdomen. Providence Fire and Rescue crews transported him to Hasbro Children's Hospital. He has been treated and released.

Segura, the second shooting victim, was rushed from the scene to Rhode Island Hospital for what has been described as 'life threatening' injuries. Segura was shot in the head and is currently listed in critical condition.

Right now police are not releasing many details surrounding shoot-off, but police are looking for a third male who was scene driving a white four-door sedan that witnesses say they saw fleeing from the scene.

The suspect is believed to be armed and dangerous and may be carrying an automatic weapon.
