Driver arrested for DUI after multi-car crash in South Kingstown

SOUTH KINGSTOWN, R.I. (WLNE): A driver was arrested for driving under the influence, causing a head-on crash in South Kingstown on Saturday night.

Police responded to Commodore Perry near Post Road in South Kingstown. 

According to witnesses on the scene, the driver was seen going the wrong way on Route 1 when the crash happened. 

The investigation led police to believe that driver, David Kahn, of Charlestown, was intoxicated. 

Police observed two heavily damaged and one minor damaged car were in the southbound travel lanes.

Both the victim and Kahn were transported to South County Hospital. Kahn was taken into custody. 

South Kingstown Police continue to investigate.
