Driver arrested for DUI: Pedestrian killed

SOUTH KINGSTOWN, R.I (WLNE) – A pedestrian was struck and killed by a driver overnight in South Kingstown on Friday.
Emergency Medical Services and The South Kingstown Union Fire District responded to 675 Middlebridge Road after a man was struck by a vehicle at 7:34 p.m.
The victim, 54-year-old South Kingstown resident, Alan Albergaria, was pronounced dead at South County Hospital a short time after being struck.
30-year-old Cara Kenyon, who was driving the vehicle that struck Albergaria was taken into custody on the scene and was charged with Driving Under the Influence-Death Resulting, Refusal to Submit to a Chemical Test, and Obstruction.
Kenyon was arraigned at the police department and she was released on $10,000 personal recognizance.
Kenyon will be re-arraigned at a later date, and the case is currently under investigation.
