Driver crashes stolen car into tree in Providence

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE)- A driver crashed a stolen car into a tree in Providence early on Friday morning, according to the city’s police department.

ABC6 crews were at the scene of the crash that happened at around 3 a.m. on Magnolia St.

Crews said that the car had significant damage to the front bumper.

Police said that the car was stolen, hit the tree, and then the driver took off from the scene on foot.

No further information was released.
