UPDATE: Driver charged for hit-and-run involving juvenile

PROVIDENCE R.I. (WLNE) – Police have arrested the woman wanted for a hit-and-run involving a 15-year-old girl Tuesday morning.

Ceira Santiago Guerrido, age 33 of Providence, has been charged for the hit-and-run at the intersection of Public Street and Prairie Ave. She turned herself in to police Thursday afternoon.

According to Providence Police, a female juvenile was walking within a marked crosswalk, when she was struck around 9:00 a.m.

Guerrido was seen fleeing the scene in what was described as a blue Dodge Magnum or similar model station wagon with excessive window tint.

The juvenile was transported to Hasbro Children’s Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Guerrido was charged with leaving the scene of an accident with serious bodily injury and numerous traffic violations.
