Driver turns himself in after driving into Bank of America at Garden City

CRANSTON, R.I. (WLNE): A driver turned himself in on Saturday morning after driving into the Bank of America at Garden City, according to Cranston Police. 

At 6:40 a.m. the police department received a call that there was a large hole in the side of the Bank of America building on Hillside Rd. 

Officers said it appeared a car struck the side of the building. They checked the interior of the building and said nothing was taken. 

No calls for any alarms were received, according to police. 

At 11 a.m. on Saturday, police said someone came into the lobby of the Cranston Police Headquarters and said they struck the building. 

The driver was issued a citation for leaving the scene of the accident and property damage.
