Dunkin’ Donuts Center To Host Regional Round of 2024 NCAA Men’s Ice Hockey Tournament

The National Collegiate Athletic Association announced today that Brown University has been selected to host the 2024 NCAA Division I Men’s Ice Hockey Regional at the Dunkin’ Donuts Center and the 2025 NCAA Division I Men’s Lacrosse Quarterfinals at Brown Stadium.

“Brown is thrilled to be hosting these two exceptional NCAA Championship events in the City of Providence and State of Rhode Island,” said Brown Director of Athletics Jack Hayes. “Our great relationship with Dunkin Donuts Center and Rhode Island Convention Center Authority was instrumental in bringing the NCAA Ice Hockey Regional back to the state. We’re also looking forward to showcasing the Brown University campus with the return of the NCAA Lacrosse Quarterfinals at Brown Stadium.”

Brown previously hosted the NCAA Ice Hockey Regional at the Dunkin’ Donuts Center in 2013, 2015 and 2017. Additionally, Brown recently hosted the NCAA Division I Men’s Lacrosse Quarterfinals at Brown Stadium in 2016 and was scheduled to host the event in 2020, before being canceled due the pandemic.

For only the third time in its history, the NCAA undertook a site selection process where most of its championships were put out for bid at the same time.

The result: The Association made more than 450 selections of host sites for preliminary rounds and final sites of predetermined championships in Divisions I, II and III, with most to be held from 2022-23 through 2025-26.

The NCAA received more than 3,000 bid submissions from NCAA member schools, conferences, sports commissions and cities vying to host predetermined rounds for 86 of the NCAA’s 90 championships. The sites were selected by the respective NCAA sports committees and approved by the divisional competition oversight and championships committees.
