Duxbury teen charged with his father’s murder after apparent drowning incident

DUXBURY, Mass. (WLNE) – A 19-year-old man in Massachusetts is facing a murder charge after his father was pulled from a pond and later died.

Duxbury police said Jack and Scott Callahan took an Uber to Island Creek Pond in the Duxbury area sometime Sunday night.

Jack returned home but his father Scott did not.

The mother called at 2 a.m. and said the son arrived home and said his father was missing.

Authorities searched the pond and found him.

CPR was performed and Scott was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The cause of the death is under investigation.

Jack is being held at police headquarters and is set to be arraigned Tuesday morning.
