Early morning stabbing sends man to hospital

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) – Providence police are investigating after a man was stabbed in the chest early Sunday morning.

Providence police said the stabbing happened on Webster Avenue around 3:30 a.m.

When officers arrived, they found a 28-year-old man with a severe laceration to his chest.  Authorities said he was stabbed by a man outside of the Webster Avenue building.

The victim was transported to Rhode Island Hospital, and is said to be in stable condition.

Providence Detectives are investigating.
