East Greenwich police officer arrested for domestic violence in Pawtucket

Pawtucket, RI (WLNE) – Pawtucket police announced the arrest of Mark A. Edmonds, 25, for several incidents of domestic violence.

Pawtucket Police have confirmed Edmonds was employed by the East Greenwich police department.

On June 1, a victim reported to Pawtucket police that she had been assaulted by Edmonds on May 31.

She went on to report several other incidents of domestic violence by Edmonds that occurred in Pawtucket around September 2018 and on April 3, 2019.

Here are Edmonds charges:

⋅ Domestic Assault by Strangulation- Felony

⋅ Domestic Violence- Simple Assault and/or Battery- 1st Offense

⋅ Domestic Violence-Refusal Relinquish/Damage/Obstruct Telephone-1st Offense

⋅ Domestic Violence – Disorderly Conduct – 1st Offense

⋅ Domestic Violence – Simple Assault and/or Battery – 1st Offense

Edmonds was arraigned yesterday before a Bail Commissioner and released.

He is due back in court Thursday morning.

We are waiting to hear back from East Greenwich police for more information on Edmonds’ employment with the department.
