East Providence holds COVID-19 testing event ahead of return to school

EAST PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE)- The East Providence School Department held a COVID-19 testing event on Sunday, ahead of students returning from winter break.

Students and faculty were able to get tested at Edward R. Martin Middle School from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m.

The testing was being done by some of the district’s principals, as well as school administrators.

The school department was given 1,200 COVID-19 tests by the state initially, and then an additional 1,200, according to Superintendent Kathryn Crowley.
