East Providence man arrested in connection to series of car break-ins

EAST PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE)- The East Providence Police Department arrested a man on Friday in connection to a series of car burglaries that happened last week.

Police arrested 27-year-old Dakota Cronin, of East Providence, at around 3 a.m. on Friday morning, according to a post on the department’s Facebook page.

An officer spotted Cronin walking down Becker Avenue in the Riverside section of the city.

The officer noticed that Cronin was dressed similar to the suspect in the most recent surveillance footage of the crimes.

“During the investigation, the male was found to be in possession of various items that appeared to be contents typically contained within a motor vehicle,” the post read.

Cronin was arrested and charged with injuring/tampering with vehicles and weapons other than firearms prohibited.
