East Providence man sentenced to serve 12 years in prison for child molestation

EAST PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) – An East Providence man was sentenced to serve 12 years at the Adult Correctional Institutions after pleading no contest to sexually assaulting a teenage girl in 2012.

Adam Sousa, 47, plead to first degree child molestation.

Sousa must also register as a sex offender, complete counseling, and be subject to community supervision, including lifetime GPS monitoring.

The court also issued a no contact order between Sousa and the victim.
