East Providence police search for those who vandalized field overnight

EAST PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Police are searching for those who damaged Pierce Memorial Field in East Providence overnight.

East Providence Mayor Bob DaSilva posted surveillance video on social media that shows a car driving onto the field and doing donuts at about 1:30 a.m. Thursday morning.

“This makes me so upset and disappointed in people,” DaSilva said in the post.

The damage is near the field’s new splash pad.

DaSilva posted photos of tire marks that ripped up the grass over a wide area.
