East Providence police searching for suspect truck in pedestrian hit-and-run

The East Providence Police Department shared this CCTV capture of the truck and driver they said hit a pedestrian and fled the scene.

EAST PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — The East Providence Police Department announced they’re searching for a suspect truck that they said hit a pedestrian on Saturday.

According to police, at August 26, just after 8 a.m. at the intersection of Taunton Avenue and John Street, a pedestrian was crossing from the Dunkin Donuts, walking north to the sidewalk where Visiting Angels is located.

Police shared CCTV stills that show what appears to be a dark colored Chevy Avalanche. The license plates are unknown.

The truck was reportedly driven by a white man with a beard, police said.
