Easton man pleaded guilty to armed robbery

FALL RIVER, Mass. (WLNE)- One man has pleaded guilty for a October 2019 armed robbery of a Mobil gas station clerk in Mansfield.

Alfredo Rosa Jr, 35, of Easton, pleaded guilty in Fall River Superior Court charging him with armed and masked robbery, carrying an illegal firearm and unlawful possession of ammunition.

Rosa Jr. robbed the Mobil gas station by pointing a gun in the clerk’s face and threatening to kill him if he did not hand over the money. When police arrived, Rosa attempted to flee the scene in his vehicle, leading law enforcement on a brief chase into Foxboro. The suspect then jumped out of the car and into the wooded area where police eventually apprehended him. While attempting to flee in his vehicle, he also tried to steal a car at knifepoint, charges pending for that incident. A handgun and ammunition were found in the vehicle as well.

Police also learned that Rosa was a suspect in an earlier armed robbery at a gas station in Stoughton, charges pending.

He is set to serve five to seven years in state prison followed by two additional years on supervised probation.
