UPDATE: Easton multicar crash leaves one driver critically injured
EASTON, Mass. (WLNE) — The Bristol County District Attorney’s office has released further details in a multi-car crash that left one driver critically injured.
According to the Bristol County DA, Easton police responded to the incident at the intersection of Route 138 and Route 106 Monday at 9:30 a.m.
First responders located four vehicles involved in the crash, and the preliminary investigation revealed the sequence of events.
According to first responders, a Hyundai Azera side-swiped a Hyundai Kona traveling north on Route 138.
The Azera then rear-ended a Honda Civic, leaving the latter vehicle with catastrophic rear damage.
The Honda also sustained damage to its front end when it was propelled into the rear of a Toyota Rav4.
The 50-year-old female driver of the Honda was transported to a Boston hospital in critical condition.
Her condition is not known at this time.
The 34-year-old female operator of the Azera and the operator of the Rav4 were transported with minor injuries.
The exact cause of the incident remains under investigation by Massachusetts State Police detectives and Easton police.
