KINGSTON, R.I. — The Atlantic 10 announced its weekly award winners today and E.C. Matthews was named the conference’s co-player of the week. Matthews shares the honor with Dayton’s Jordan Sibert.

Matthews averaged 21.0 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 2.0 assists in a 2-0 week for Rhode Island.  He knocked down nine field goals and six free throws, on his way to registering 24 points, seven rebounds, and an assist in a Rhody win over Fordham. The reigning Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Year followed that performance with an 18-point road outing against Duquesne. He hit four three pointers in the win and added four rebounds and three assists.

It marks the second time that the Detroit native has earned A-10 Player of the Week honors, having earned the weekly award on Nov. 24.
