Ed Sheeran breaks record for highest single-show attendance at Gillette Stadium

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. (WLNE) — Ed Sheeran broke the record for the highest single-show attendance at Gillette Stadium.

His Saturday show had a new venue record of 71,723 people.

Sheeran played two shows over the weekend as part of his +–=÷x — pronounced the “Mathematics” Tour.

Gillette is the first NFL stadium that Sheeran ever headlined.

Stadium officials said his return this weekend officially made it the venue Sheeran has performed the most shows.

The previous highest single-show attendance record was the U2 360° Tour on Sept. 20, 2009.
