Education leaders announce $30M for Rhode Island’s facility equity initiative

CENTRAL FALLS, R.I. (WLNE) — Education leaders announced on Thursday millions in funding for the second round of Rhode Island’s facility equity initiative.

Gov. Dan McKee joined Rhode Island Department of Education Commissioner Angélica Infante-Green for the announcement at Dr. Earl F. Calcutt Middle School in Central Falls.

Infante-Green said that $30 million in funding will now be made available for “high priority and high impact projects” for the state’s most at need municipalities.

The department is currently working on 27 projects across 17 school districts, according to the commissioner.
