The surprise announcement was made during band class this morning at East Greenwich High School.

Andrew is the first Rhode Islander ever to make the final 12, earning him an invitation to New York City for the Heisman Awards on December 14th.

Six boys and six girls have been invited.  One boy and one girl will win the prestigious Wendy's High School Heisman.

Miner is an All-Division quarterback, Senior Class President, Editor of the school newspaper, an All-State saxaphone player, a member of the drama club, and a straight “A” student for his entire high school career.
