PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Providence Mayor Jorge Elorza announced a new program for small business training and resources Thursday.

The mayor explained that the Empower Providence Microenterprise Accelerator Program will partner with GoDaddy to offer eight weeks of business support training for microenterprises.

“Microenterprises face particular challenges due to their small size, and often, limited resources. We are excited to partner with GoDaddy and these excellent community organizations to provide new resources and skills to our community’s smallest businesses,” Elorza said.

The program will have 10 different modules to help small business owners to grow their brand online and establish a marketing presence.

About 120 businesses are expected to participate in the program starting in October.

Any microenterprise looking to apply to the program can find more information here.
