Elusive Lakeville emu finally captured

LAKEVILLE, Mass. (WLNE) — The emu that eluded Lakeville officials for over a week has finally been captured.

Animal Control Officer David Frates said in a social media post that the emu was captured on Saturday.

He also thanked Lakeville Police Department dispatchers and officers for helping in the search.

Lakeville Animal Control told ABC 6 News that the animal will be going to a “local species expert.”
