Endoscopy unit at Kent Hospital temporarily closed due to potential exposure to COVID-19

WARWICK, R.I. (WLNE) – ABC 6 News has learned that Kent County Hospital’s Endoscopy Unit has been temorarily closed due to COVID-19 exposure.

A spokesperson for Care New England Hospitals provided us with the following statement:

“Out of an abundance of caution, the endoscopy unit at Kent Hospital has temporarily been closed, and patients are being diverted to Women & Infants Hospital. Due to potential exposure to COVID-19, employees in the endoscopy department are being quarantined for fourteen (14) days. The Rhode Island Department of Health (RI DOH) has been notified and Care New England is working with the RI DOH on this matter.”

Patients will be seen at Women and Infants Hospital for treatment.
