Entire Cast in RI Governor’s Race to Hit Stage for Women’s Forum
PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) – All the candidates for Rhode Island governor will share a stage for the first time as they answer questions at a forum in Providence.
Tuesday's forum at an all-girl's school will focus on women's issues.
The organizers say all the declared candidates will attend. They say the candidates will be asked to refrain from debating each other, but will be allowed to give opening statements and will be asked to answer questions posed by a panel.
The candidates include the two Democrats – Attorney General Patrick Lynch and state Treasurer Frank Caprio – and two Republicans – John Robitaille, once a top aide to Gov. Don Carcieri, and former state Rep. Victor Moffitt.
There's also former Sen. Lincoln Chafee, an independent, and Moderate Party candidate Ken Block.
