Equality in Abortion Coverage Act advances to full House

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — The House Judiciary Committee voted 10-4 to pass the Equality in Abortion Coverage Act.

The bill, H5006, would provide for abortion coverage in the Medicaid program, including for state employee.

House Majority Whip Katherine Kazarian is the sponsor of the bill. She introduced it in February 2022.

The Equality in Abortion Coverage Act advances to the full House. The Senate still has to take up the measure.
