Ten thousand dollars worth of equipment was stolen from a New Bedford nonprofit.

Over the weekend, 26 laptops, a TV and iPad were taken from the group Youth Build.

“It's disgusting, but it's also a reality of the world.  Crime does happen,” said Angel Diaz, Youth Build.

Diaz says someone smashed their windows and cut the lock to the storage locker.

Youth Build helps teens and young adults get their GEDs and jobs.  They now have to alter the way they do classes.

“Get back to the basics, which you know is important, but I think we were really leading a model for the technology and education, really prepping the students for this new test that is coming up,” said Diaz.

The New Bedford Police Department is investigating.  Anyone with information can call 508-991-6300.
