Exeter man hit woman multiple times in head with rock to kill her, prosecutors say

EXETER, R.I. (WLNE) —  Prosecutors said Tuesday that the 60-year-old man accused of murdering a woman in Exeter used a rock and gloves to kill her.

Ramsundar Ramkalawan was arraigned in Washington County Court Tuesday, where he was was held without bail. He entered no plea.

Prosecutors said after an argument between Ramkalawan and Donna MacDonald, the 60-year-old used the rock to hit MacDonald multiple times in the head, which led to her death.

Rhode Island State Police said that Ramkalawan, who’s from Exeter, murdered the 65-year-old woman at her apartment on South County Trail.

Police found MacDonald’s body just after 10 p.m. Monday and deemed the death to be suspicious.

In court, prosecutors didn’t say what the relationship was between Ramkalawan and MacDonald.

The 60-year-old is scheduled to be back in court later this month.
