PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) – Four incredibly rare lobsters have found homes in Rhode Island aquariums after being discovered in New England-area Stop & Shop stores.
Workers at stores in North Attleboro, Massachusetts, and Cromwell, Connecticut discovered four rare orange lobsters in their stores.
The exceedingly uncommon crustaceans found new homes at a pair of Rhode Island aquariums.
One lobster was moved to Biomes Marine Biology Center in North Kingstown while the other three, nicknamed Larry, Moe and Curly, found a new home at Beavertail State Park aquarium in Jamestown.
A spokesperson for New England Aquarium’s Lobster Lab told ABC6 that the genetic likelihood of orange lobsters like these is just one in 30 million.
