PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Falafel products sold at Aldi stores in Rhode Island are being recalled over E. coli concerns.

Cuisine Innovations Unlimited issued a recall of its Earth Grown Vegan Traditional Falafel and its Garlic and Herb Falafel.

The Rhode Island Department of Health said the products were shipped to stores after June 24, 2021.

The department said, “There have been 20 reported cases of Shiga-toxin-producing E. coli in six with onset dates reported between July 24, 2022, and September 19, 2022.” None of these cases were in Rhode Island.

The products are also sold in several other states, including Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and New York.
