People in Fall River got their first chance to voice their concerns on a proposed casino.

A forum at Government Center was packed with people both for and against the Foxwoods casino proposal.

“The city needs to be revitalized.  It will help the city move forward because we need help bad,” said Helen Rego, Fall River.

“Casinos and slot parlors are there so that you loose and they win,” said Stefani Koorey, Fall River.

Foxwoods is hoping to secure southeastern Massachusetts' single casino license.  They need it to build a proposed $750 million resort style casino off Rt. 24.  Their early design includes a 300 room hotel, 10 bars & restaurants, retail and a casino with 3,000 slots and 90 table games.

“We think it's gonna be a real attraction to the area, generate a lot of tourism and we're excited about it,” said Scott Butera, CEO Foxwoods.

The proposal will head to residents for a vote in June.
