Fall River man arrested during traffic stop after police find loaded gun on him, police say
NEW BEDFORD, Mass. (WLNE) — A Fall River man was arrested in New Bedford during a traffic stop after police found a loaded gun on him, according to authorities.
Lt. Scott Carola said they received a call at about 10 a.m. Tuesday about a man who had a gun.
A short time later, Carola said they stopped Harley Docanto’s car on Durfee Street and searched it.
Docanto, who’s 27 years old, had a Polymer 80 with a Glock barrel that was loaded with 15 rounds of ammunition, said Carola.
Police also found a baggie containing 43 tablets of oxycodone.
Docanto was arrested and charged with possession of a firearm, ammunition, and a high capacity feeding device without a license. He was also charged with illegal possession of a class B substance.
