Fall River man fatally shot in Brockton

BROCKTON, MASS (WLNE) – State and Brockton Police are investigating the fatal shooting of a 31 year-old Fall River man. 

At around 1:43 a.m on Saturday, ShotSpotter alerted Brockton Police to shots fired in the vicinity of Grand and Main street. 

Brockton police responded to the area and collected evidence as a part of their investigation. 

According to police, it was at approximately 5 am on Saturday, that they received 911 calls reporting a shooting victim that was located behind 1040 Main Street. 

Brockton police, Fire, and emergency medical personnel responded. The male victim, now identified as 31-year-old Marco Rodrigues, of Fall River,  was located and transported to Good Samaritan Hospital.

It was there, he succumbed to his injuries. 

Brockton Police contacted State Police Detectives assigned to Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office and an investigation commenced. 

The investigation remains active and ongoing. 

Police are urging anyone with any information on the shooting to contact State Police Detectives
