Fall River man sentenced for robbing 4 banks

FALL RIVER, Mass. (WLNE) — The United States Attorney’s Office District of Massachusetts said that a Fall River man was sentenced for robbing four separate banks in Massachusetts within a five-day period and attempting to rob a fifth.
William Sequeira previously pled guilty to four counts of bank robbery and one count of attempted bank robbery.
The U.S. Attorney’s Office said that between Sept. 26, 2022 and Sept. 30, 2022, the 60-year-old robbed four separate banks in the Fall River and Boston areas.
The successful robberies took place at the Stop and Shop on Rodman Street in Fall River, the Santander Bank on Berkley Street in Boston, the M&T Bank located on Boylston Street in Boston, and the TD Bank located on Union Street in Boston.
At each location, he threatened tellers with a gun.
A law enforcement investigation led to authorities identifying Sequeira and apprehending him on Oct. 5, 2022 as he attempted to rob Citizens Bank located on Boylston Street in Boston.

Sequeira was sentenced to serve 54 months in prison and three years of supervised release.
