Fall River Mayor to give State of the City Address Nov. 23

Fall River Mayor

FALL RIVER, Mass. (WLNE) – Mayor Paul Coogan is slated to give the annual State of the City address next Monday.

The typical State of the City address typically happens earlier in the year.

However, Mayor Coogan will be working with the Fall River Government TV (channel 18)  to air an informal State of the City address on Nov.23, according to the Mayor’s spokeswoman Elaina Pevide.

“The State of the City is an important rite of passage for a Mayor, and it is a tradition that I, unfortunately, had to miss out on in March,” remarked Mayor Coogan. “Despite the delay and the unusual way we have had to prepare this year’s address, I believe it is more important than ever to communicate with Fall River residents.”

The speech will contain updates and plans for the remainder of Coogan’s term.

It will be recorded without an audience and aired next Monday at 7 p.m on Fall River’s government channel as well as live on their Facebook page.

After the airing, it will also be available on the Fall River Government Channel’s YouTube page.
