Fall River Police arrest two after break in

FALL RIVER, Mass. (WLNE)- Fall River Police responded to a report of a break in on Monday evening where they arrested two suspects.

Jose Almeida, 38, and Anahi Rodrigues, 39, were caught breaking and entering into an apartment at 306 Bank St.

The initial report said that a woman, Rodrigues, was shouting outside of the apartment asking to be let in.

Almeida then broke the door open with a crow bar.

Police say that when officers arrived on the scene, they were told that the two suspects had fled to the backyard.

Officers found Almeida on the fire escape with a crow bar. Rodrigues was still in the back yard holding a black backpack.

She put the backpack down on the ground when she saw the officers.

Police spotted an AR15 pistol in the backpack that was loaded with two loaded rounds.

Both suspects have been arrested.

Almeida is being charged with the following:

  • Attempt to Commit a Crime to with Breaking and Entering during Daytime with Intent to Commit a Felony
  • Possession of Burglarious Tools

Rodrigues, who had a prior warrant for her arrest, is being charged with the following:

  • Attempt to Commit a Crime to with Breaking and Entering during Daytime with Intent to Commit a Felony
  • Possession of Burglarious Tools
  • Attempt to Commit a Crime
  • Breaking and Entering during Nighttime with Intent to Commit a Felony
  • Possession of a large capacity firearm
  • Possession of a large capacity firearm feeding device
  • Possession of Ammunition without an FID card
  • Firearm Violation with three prior Violent/Drug Crimes
  • Possession of a large capacity firearm in a felony
  • Carrying a Firearm on a Public Way
