Fall River police shared a photo of officers wearing body cameras.

FALL RIVER, Mass. (WLNE) Some officers in Fall River will now be equipped with body cameras.

The Fall River Police Department announced Friday that members of the Special Operations Division will be patrolling with the devices.

“These officers are currently handling calls for service and interacting with the public while wearing this new equipment,” noted the department.

Mayor Paul Coogan was on-hand as the officers were instructed on the use of cameras.

This is the first time officers with the department will be using body cameras and it is part of a pilot program.
