Fall River police chief to be officially sworn in

FALL RIVER, Mass. (WLNE) — The Fall River Police Department will be swearing in its new police chief Thursday.

Paul Gauvin has been the department’s interim chief since December, after former chief Jeffrey Cardoza went out on medical leave.

Cardoza retired in March and Gauvin was made permanent chief in May.

Gauvin has served with the department for nearly 25 years.

The ceremony will be held at Fall River Government Center, starting at 4 p.m.
