Fall River Police investigating shots fired incident

FALL RIVER, Mass. (WLNE) – Police in Fall River are investigating a shots fired incident near a local playground.

Officers responded to the area of Fourth Street and Branch Street around 5:20 p.m. Thursday for reports of shots fired in the area of Griffin Park.

A female subject on scene told police her bedroom window had been broken by gunfire from outside. Police located two bullets in her bedroom.

Upon further investigation, police found six shell casings in the area.

Police said witnesses reported seeing several males running from the area at the time but were not able to provide descriptions.

The incident is under investigation.
